This phrase was once a very popular and comical one. It's not around like it used to be. So, I decided to revive it and use it for comic relief while talking to my HBB and networking buddies. I Refuse to Do Children's Chores When I'm Too Busy
This blog is experimental. Are there things that you refuse to do? Please share them.
Circa 1992-1999 > I am a busy adult with children. There's always work for me to do. It is work that nobody else will do. If I do not get this work done, it will not get done. I am the only person capable of doing this work.
The children are over ten years old. They can do things like take out the garbage, make their beds, pick up their things, keep the TV room clean and do yard work. If they can ride a bicycle or operate a VCR, they can do these simple chores.
For some reason, my wife of 1992-99 seemed incapable of getting the children to do anything, not even taking out the garbage. So, she thinks that I am an easy mark. She thinks that she can dump these simple chores on me. No way!
These are chores that I had to do when I was a child. Do you think that I intend to do chores that children should be doing.
I refuse to do it! I won't do it. As long as able children are living in my home and spending our money, I consider that they have their own obligations to the family. No free loaders.
The wife has a big problem about this. She does not stop trying my patience about this.
Why is she allowing our children to become lazy? And is she also lazy?
I laid the law down. I refuse to do the chores that belong to children, especially when I have my own work to do. I'm busy and you can bet that she will be getting into bed an hour or two before me. I will be the one up at midnight still working.
What things do you refuse to do? Inquiring minds want to know.
